Dental Crown,and bridge
A Dental Crown is a “cap” placed on a damaged tooth to restore its functionality and its appearance. At Bangalore Dental solutions we use
both traditional ways and technological advances in dental technology to come to a conclusion about your need of getting a dental crown.
We recommend dental crown to:
Protect a weak tooth.
To restore an already broken tooth.
To cover and support a tooth which has large cavity.
To hold a dental bridge in place.
To cover a discolored or crooked tooth.
To cover a dental implant.
For cosmetic purposes.
DIFFERENT TYPES OF DENTAL CROWNS
Different kinds of materials are used according to clinical demands at hand; esthetic demands, strength requirements, and restorative
space available. The kinds of crowns that we mainly use at our clinic are:
Porcelain-fused-to-metal crowns provide a strong, durable and esthetic treatment option.A Porcelain-fused-to-metal crown (PFM) has two parts,
one is a metal alloy that is used to create the portion of the crown that fits directly on the tooth and the porcelain forms the tooth-shaped
aspect of the crown that gives the crown a white tooth-like coloration. PFM dental crowns are a good choice for both front and back teeth.
These crowns are strong enough to withstand heavy biting pressures and at the same time can have an excellent cosmetic appearance.
The most beautiful crown for a tooth is an all-ceramic crown. As the name suggests this crown is made completely of ceramic so mimics the
translucency of natural teeth perfectly. This is also perfect for patients who are allergic to metals. At our clinic we use different types
of ceramics to make dental crowns:
The Procera crown: Procera is a milled ceramic on the inside with porcelain baked onto the outside. The advantage of Procera is its
exceptional strength. An advantage of Procera is that it doesn’t have to be bonded to the tooth but can be cemented with ordinary crown
and bridge cement. This crown comes with a international guarantee of 5 to 10 years.
3M LAVA: Lava is similar to Procera, but the milled ceramic on the inside is a more translucent Zirconia, rather than an opaque white
material. The Zirconia is shaded, and then the final esthetics of the crown is achieved by baking the outer layer. The Lava crown can also
be cemented with traditional techniques. This crown comes with a guarantee of 10 to 15 years.
Zerconia crown: It is translucent enough to look natural. When bonded to the teeth, instead of being cemented with conventional dental
cement, they don’t show a black line at the gumline.
Cercon: It is an all-ceramic metal-free restoration which begins with the Cercon Zirconia framework. Cercon Zirconia provides a
translucency that exceeds porcelain-fused-to-metal restorations and creates vitality similar to natural teeth. Whether for crowns or
bridges, for the anterior or posterior regions, Cercon Zirconia allows you to achieve an extraordinarily high degree of precision and
accuracy of fit. This crown comes with a guarantee of 10 to 15 years.
Translucent zircon oxide from Amann Girrbach is suited for crown and bridges. This newly developed zircon oxide makes it possible
to produce the required translucent results at material-efficient sintering temperatures, which guarantees long-term stability of the
finished crown. It is notable for extremely high bio-compatibility, optimal visual quality and impressive resistance to bending stresses.
This crown comes with a guarantee of 10 to 15 years.
